Shade - Private Display Guard

1. Information We Collect

Shade collects minimal information necessary to operate and improve the app:

• Filter settings and preferences: Stored only on your device's local storage.
• Analytics data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics such as app opens, feature usage, and crash reports. This data does not include personally identifiable information.
• Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects crash logs and device information (device model, OS version) to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
• Advertising ID: Google AdMob may collect your advertising ID to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your preferences.

2. Permissions We Request

Shade requests the following permissions to provide its core functionality:

• Display over other apps (Overlay): Required to draw privacy filters on top of your screen. This is the core functionality of the app.
• Accessibility Service: Used to detect the current foreground app for per-app filter settings. This service does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
• Internet: Required for serving ads, syncing analytics data, fetching remote configuration, and processing in-app purchases.
• Notifications: Used to provide quick toggle controls for the privacy filter via the notification bar.
• Foreground Service: Required to keep the privacy filter active while in use.

3. Third-Party Services

Shade uses the following third-party services that may collect data:

• Google AdMob: Serves advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous usage statistics. See Firebase Privacy.
• Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports and device information. See Firebase Privacy.
• Firebase Remote Config: Fetches app configuration from server. No personal data is collected.
• Google Play Billing: Processes in-app purchases. Purchase information is handled by Google Play. See Google's Privacy Policy.

4. How We Use Information

Information is used for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the privacy filter functionality
• To display advertisements
• To analyze app usage and improve user experience
• To diagnose crashes and fix bugs
• To process in-app purchases

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• Local settings are permanently deleted when you uninstall the app.
• Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's data retention policies.
• You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

• All filter settings are stored in the app's private storage area
• Communication with third-party services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS)
• No sensitive personal data is collected or stored

7. Children's Privacy

Shade does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
